Indian Banks NPA to increase 75% by 2021

Sounding alerts for the Indian economy, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has said that the macro stress tests for credit risk indicate that the GNPA ratio of all scheduled commercial banks may increase from 8.5 per cent in March this year to 12.5 per cent by March 2021 under the baseline scenario. The ratio may escalate to 14.7 per cent under a very severely stressed scenario.

The central bank also indicated that the NPAs could reach 22 year high soon.
